Justice — upright meaning

Overview

Libra is the only sign of the zodiac represented by an object instead of a living creature, and the object is a pair of scales: something that does not feel, only weighs. Its ruler is Venus, so this justice cares about balance more than punishment, and the Sun enters Libra at the equinox, autumn's in the north, when light and dark stand equal. Eleven is the first step past a completed ten, the moment a cycle's actions get counted. Justice is cause and effect: what was done returns, measured and in proportion. It speaks of truth, fairness and accountability, and very literally of the law, so it turns up for court cases, contracts, settlements and official decisions. The card is impartial, which is comforting if you acted well and uncomfortable if you did not. It does not reward good intentions or punish bad luck. It weighs what actually happened. For that reason it also asks something of you: to see your own situation as clearly as a fair judge would, including the parts where you played a role, and to decide on the evidence instead of on how you wish it were.

Justice in love

Fairness in a relationship: equal effort, honest accounting, commitments that both people keep. It can point to a relationship being formalised, or to a conversation where the truth finally gets said. For a separation, it indicates a fair settlement and an outcome both people can live with.

Justice in career

Contracts, legal matters, a decision about to be made by someone weighing the evidence. Integrity is rewarded here and shortcuts are exposed. If you are negotiating, ask for what is fair and be ready to show why it is. A hiring decision, a performance review or a disciplinary process will be judged on the record, so make sure the record says what actually happened.

Justice and money

Money settled correctly: a dispute resolved, a debt paid, a tax matter put in order, an inheritance divided according to the terms. Honest records protect you under this card, and any cutting of corners tends to surface.

Justice: yes or no?

Maybe, and the scales decide. If you have acted fairly and the facts are on your side, the answer leans yes. If the question depends on something being overlooked, it will not be.

As feelings

Seeking fairness, weighing things carefully. Somebody who wants to do right by you and is thinking hard about what that means, possibly more with their head than their heart.

As actions

Telling the truth. Signing, filing, testifying, taking responsibility. Making a decision on the evidence and standing by it.

Advice

Be honest, with others and with yourself about your own part. Decide on the facts instead of on hope or resentment, and accept that a fair outcome may not be the one you wanted. What you put right now stops following you.

Justice — reversed meaning

Overview

The scales are out of balance. An outcome that is unfair, a decision made on bad information, a situation where somebody is escaping the consequences of what they did, or where you are carrying consequences that are not yours. The harder reading turns toward yourself. Dishonesty, or a refusal to take responsibility, and the quiet hope that a bill will never arrive. Frequently the card marks the point where the bill is already on its way, and the choice left is whether to meet it or be found by it. It can also indicate legal complications, delays in a case, or a contract with a clause somebody did not read.

Justice reversed in love

Imbalance of effort, blame placed unfairly, or a truth being withheld. A relationship where one person keeps score and the other stopped counting long ago.

Justice reversed in career

Unfair treatment, office politics distorting a decision, or a legal problem at work. Also being tempted to cut a corner and hoping nobody checks.

Justice reversed and money

A dispute going badly, an unfair settlement, or money problems caused by avoiding the paperwork. Read the contract again before signing anything.

Justice reversed: yes or no?

No, not on the present terms. Something is unbalanced, and the outcome will not be fair until it is corrected.

As feelings

Wronged, resentful, or guilty. Somebody who feels judged unfairly, or who knows they have not been honest and is avoiding the reckoning.

As actions

Evading, blaming, bending the truth. Contesting a decision, appealing, seeking a second opinion.

Advice

Own your part first, whatever it is, and then challenge what is genuinely unfair. Keep records, get proper advice on legal matters, and do not assume the imbalance will correct itself.
