Mars in Gemini, in the twins' central decan. Mars is aggression and attack; Gemini is the mind, restless, quick, never quite still. When the planet that fights is placed inside the sign that thinks, it finds no enemy outside to fight, so it turns on the mind itself. The thoughts that come at three in the morning belong to this card: sharp, repetitive, merciless, and far worse in the dark than they will seem in daylight. Anxiety, worry and sleepless nights. Fear about something that might happen, guilt about something that did, a mind replaying the worst possibilities over and over. The card describes mental anguish that is very real, and it also carries a quiet observation: the suffering here is frequently larger than the situation that provoked it.
